Windows
LaraKube Desktop installs like a normal Windows app — no manual WSL setup, no Ubuntu app to open. You never see a terminal.
Under the hood, the LaraKube CLI itself still needs Linux, so the app turns on WSL and imports its own private Linux (separate from any Ubuntu you may already have) the first time you run Setup. This part of Windows support is newer than macOS and Linux, so if something looks off, please tell us.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with virtualization enabled (on by default on most machines).
Steps
- Download the installer from the download page and run it.
- The build isn't signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will warn you. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
- Open Setup. It turns on WSL (one administrator prompt, possibly one restart) and downloads LaraKube's own Linux image — you don't install or configure anything by hand.
- Continue with the rest of Setup.
